The Underdogs consist of two members Harvey Mason Jr & Damon Thomas. It was always destined for Harvey Mason Jr to get into the music business as he wanted to follow in his fathers foot steps. His father was the drummer of famous jazz act Fourplay.

Harveys first break was when he hooked up with the Darkchild team. He wrote with the famous writing team of Rodney Jerkins, Fred Jerkins & Lashawn Daniels. They spun out hit after hit together the most successful track being Toni Braxtons Wasnt Man Enough. He also wrote with them for Lionel Richie & Brian McKnight.

Damon met Harvey when he went to see Rodney Jerkins for a possible collaboration. They got talking and Harvey called him one day when he was in his area and asked if he wanted to hook up to write together, None of them were looking to form a partnership, but they seemed to work well together and created The Underdogs, which most presume is because they were protege of established producers. They went on to produce a few tracks for Olivia & Tyrese. They then went overseas and recorded their first European smash hit with Dane Bowers Shut up and forget about it which was about topless model Jordan. They also wrote with ex spice girl Victoria Beckham on three tracks.

The first tracks they were producing werent unsimilar to the tracks that were produced by the Darkchild team in fact they were hard to tell the difference at all on tracks like Tyrese I Like Them Girls & Solange Aint no way.

The Underdogs have now got their own style and it is more with slow jams like B2K Gots to be & Tyrese Hoe you gonna act like that.

They have now signed a production deal with Clive David at J Records and have been recording with their artists including American Idol winners Kelly Clarkson & Ruben Studdard.

The Underdogs are becoming larger everyday and are working with the best in the business. You will be hearing more from them.
